The Fabulous Foxwin Brothers
Full brothers Foxwin Sunrise (6/3/2004) and Foxwin Sherman (5/25/2007) share not only a dam and sire, but the remarkable temperament, lightness of foot, bold demeanor, and great, great heart we have come to expect from the Foxwin Jericho x Bishopstone Virginia Sky cross.
We are truly delighted to have both boys on the farm, enjoy their progress, and look forward to their first pas de deux together!
Sonny is the more serious horse who concentrates very hard on his lessons, strives to do well, and takes to heart corrections. His giving nature and round, fullness of engagement will make him a wonderful, honest dressage mount and all-around pleasure horse. The key with him is encouragement and gentle correction that doesn't hurt his sensitive feelings! Respectful and responsive, Sonny has demonstrated the kind of manners and quality it takes to remain a Foxwin stallion, and once fully performing in the riding arena, will begin to pass on his excellent traits in the breeding shed.
Sherman demonstrated early on that he didn't quite have the gentility required for stallionhood, so he was gelded as soon as possible, and it has made all the difference! Sherm is a happy-go-lucky, anything-goes sort of horse, but one with a wicked intelligence and playful nature. As smart and energetic as his older brother, Sherm shrugs off any embarrassment or hurt feelings during training and just keeps wishing his people would learn to appreciate his sense of humor. His willingness and utter fearlessness bode well for his career in both the dressage arena and the open field. We've decided, however, that he won't make a great parade horse-- he'd want to stop and visit with every spectator, vendor, and marching band member and would bring the event to a halt while he got to know everyone!
